Tag, I'm it!

I was tagged by my author friend, Tawdra Kandle, to participate in The Next Big Thing Blog tour. This Blog Tour is on a mission to discover the new project authors are currently developing. So I took a break from editing to give a quick interview about my Next Big Thing: Zeros.

The Next Big Thing

What is the working title of your book?

Zeros: The Cuspian Series. I know. I know. I had to look up Cuspian on Google too.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

The idea for this book was written in the stars. Don’t look at me like that…I’m serious. My book revolves around twins who are gifted with supernatural abilities due to them being born on the cusp – the precise moment where one astrological sign transitions into another – of Scorpio and Libra. I’m a Cuspian as well, so after researching the topic so much the idea sprouted so I decided I should write it down.

What genre does your book fall under?

Zeros is a young adult and urban fantasy novel.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I happen to be a huge movie buff so this was one of the easiest questions to answer.

Kendal Myles- Beau Mirchoff
Kennedi Myles- Lucy Hale
Kimberly Myles- A blonde Jennifer Connelly
Chancellor North- Eddie Cibrian
Jacen North- Tyler Hoechlin

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Yikes, this is a hard one but I’ll try: Twins investigate their mom’s unexpected death while trying to manage their new found super powers.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Stay tuned folks…

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

It took me over a year to complete my first draft.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

If I Am Number Four, Pretty Little Liars, Hunger Games and X-Men (I know it’s a comic book but I’m a rule breaker) had an orgy baby then it would be Zeros.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

I am inspired to write by people who enjoy taking portals to other worlds through novels.

What else about your book might pique the readers’ interest?

Zeros is a mature young adult/urban fantasy novel with (hopefully) witty dialogue, interesting plot, and characters you’ll love to hate. The supernatural elements in my novel are in the peripheral to the real life (romantic, family, platonic, and even toxic) relationships.
